Matthew Shoaf

Matthew Shoaf has been a professional musician for over 20 years, performing in countless projects, ensembles, and bands across Kansas City and beyond. A graduate of the Conservatory of Music at UMKC, he’s been featured on numerous commercial recordings and can be found playing 4–7 nights a week at venues throughout the metro area with some of KC’s top musicians. Most weekends, Matthew performs with premier event and wedding bands including Patrick Lentz Band, KCFLO, and Diamond Empire Band. He also fronts his own project, Gov’t Cheez, a crowd-favorite that held a long-running weekly residency on the Country Club Plaza for over fourteen years.
